Packed up my gear and traveled the whole eighth of a mile to get to this family shoot for the Johnson/Lintula extended family. My aunt, uncle, and cousins have babysat my kids and let me use their land for multiple photo shoots… it was time to get them in front of the camera. As I have been doing with all my extended family shoots, we alternated stand-and-pose shots and action shots. They posed and smiled… and did the hokey pokey. They reposed and smiled for a short series… and went for a walk. I’m just loving this formula of shooting for the mixture of classic, perfect shots and family interaction with all it’s authenticity. It rounds out the perfect album of images that makes me satisfied to deliver to my clients. Although if I was going to give you a truly authentic taste of this photo session, I’d remember and quote all the old, classic songs my uncle busted out with upon my triggering his memory with my smile cues. Lol. Since my memory fails me in that category, though, I’ll sum up this shoot with the quote my cousin loves that goes through my head when I see these pictures: “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.” That moment can be as simple as an entire family being together sharing a moment. Thanks for the opportunity to capture some family moments, Johnsons/Lintulas!
